Ban Boring Conferences

Sadly a lot of conferences/events can leave an audience a few months after the event – with no recollection of what the event was about!

No fear of that happening with the highly interactive and memorable event we produced for The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The event kicked off with a brief introduction and welcome. First session was on ‘Creative thinking’ and was led by a jazz quartet who demonstrated how they create improvisation.

The main part of the event was facilitated by the dynamic Deena Gornick; delegates were split into small working groups. They suddenly found they had 10 minutes to create their own conference objectives and theme.
Then Deena encouraged the delegates to devise their own agenda and to create a closing presentation. The audience erupted into a frenzy of activity and the overall conclusion was they had collectively been inspired to discover hidden talents and felt motivated to ensure that their own company events were more interactive and empowering!

Conference Connections were also asked to produce the CIM’s annual conference.

The theme was ‘The Marketing for Profit’ and this was strongly branded using the creative treatment in the ‘red or black’.  The conference was opened by the world's leading marketing guru, Philip Kotler. This was followed by delegates opting for a variety of marketing debates, master classes or attendance at an exhibition/fair.
All designed to try and make the event a move on from the same old type of conference. CIM in their journal wrote “The event was a huge success and delegates commented, “I found the conference a very worthwhile event and was particularly interested to hear from Professor Kotler. The best event I have ever attended.”
